Visa Black Card

I’ll be super jealous of you if you get approved! See my comments after the review at the end of the post…

visa black card

Barclay Bank introduces the Visa Black Card, their version of the American Express Centurion card.

The Black Card is engineered from carbon graphite and carries very similar benefits and advantages of the Centurion.  The Black Card advertises itself as a limited card, only available to 1% of US residents, although the criteria is has not been made public.

Black Card Advantages

The main advantages of the card are:

  • A world class, 24-hour Concierge Service to assist with travel, dining, shopping or virtually any spending desires.
  • There is an exclusive rewards program that has not been released to the public.
  • Accepted applicants will receive luxury gifts from some of the world’s top name brands in fashion and fine goods.
  • The card offers 1% cash back and can convert spending to redeemable travel points.

The card has an annual fee of $495 and carries a standard APR of prime + 9.99 (13.99% as of today).  The annual fee and APR don’t matter much to the people applying for it; it’s merely a drop in the bucket.

One of the Black Cards best advantages is the travel deals offered.  Someone who travels constantly can end up saving a lot of money in the end with the Black Card.  The card offers $250,000 worldwide travel insurance, $300 baggage delay insurance, auto rental collision damage waiver, and $1,500 trip interruption/cancellation insurance.  As a card member, you also gain access to more than 500 airport lounges in over 90 countries.

Travel like a King

The card enables users to travel without worries.  If your luggage gets lost or delayed, no worries – use your $300 baggage delay insurance to go out and by a few new outfits.  Need to cancel your flight, not to worry – your trip cancellation insurance will cover that.  Flexibility and convenience are the main selling points with the Black Card in reference to travel.

Is it worth the annual price tag? Well, if you can get approved, it just might be. Honestly, the “swagger” side of me really wants this card and I do plan on traveling allot someday.

I will envy you if you get approved!

My credit score sucks though, but if your’s is over 720, go for it and enjoy the card whilst I cannot : (

I have had THE BLACK CARD for 6 months now and I found that my CENTURIAN card is 100 times better in EVERY way except one. Where Amex is not accepted. Maybe two the $2500 annual fee compared to the $495. There are so many more benefits with Centurian! Maybe the black card will get better.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON THIS CARD. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY MADE SO MANY MISTAKES ON MY CARD I CANCELLED IT. BTW…USE YOUR POINTS BEFORE YOU CANCEL YOUR CARD. THEY WONT LET YOU USE THEM AND THEY WONT TELL YOU WHEN YOU CANCEL. THEY SENT A PEN WITH SOMEONE ELSES NAME! THEY SENT ADDITIONAL CARD LATE FOR THE TRIP DAUGHTER WAS TAKING. DID NOT APPROVE A SALE FOR FRAUD REASONS WHILE SHE WAS IN CHINA, WHICH THEY WERE TOLD SHE WOULD BE GOING THERE. I COULD TELL YOU MORE BUT NOT ENOUGH TIME!!!! JUST DONT GET IT. ALREADY I HAVE TWO OTHER PEOPLE NOT TAKING THE INVITE THEY RECEIVED IN THE MAIL…….
