Even though I don’t trade any longer, I still follow the stock market quite a bit. Especially lately. A number of online brokers, including TradeKing, OptionsXpress, and ShareBuilder are giving away loads of free money right now to acquire new customers.
TradeKing $50 Bonus
TradeKing is offering $150 bonuses (transfer fees waived) to new customers. To receive your bonus, , and make sure you fund your account and place at least one trade to receive your bonus. You must deposit at least $2500 at TradeKing.
OptionsXpress $100 Bonus
Back when I lost a crap load of money, I traded options quite a bit. OptionsXpress is a great broker for options trading, but they also offer just plain vanilla stock trading as well. Plus, they’ll give you a $100 bonus if you sign up with a referral from a friend (leave your email in a comment here and I’ll send you an invite). You must deposit $500 and make at least one trade to get your bonus.
ShareBuilder $50 Bonus
Sharebuilder, whose pretty sweet offices I’ve visited before (that was fun!), also offers a $50 bonus when you use a promo code as well. To receive your bonus you must fund your account and place at least one trade. I have a small collection of stocks in an account at Sharebuilder. I honestly haven’t looked at in in months….I’m sure it’s gotten killed the last few months.

So, there you have it, $200 bucks for the taking. A little paperwork, a few trades, and it’s almost free money. But my econ teacher always told me, “there is no such thing as a free lunch”, so I wont’ say that. Almost free lunch.
If you’re not into any of those guys, Zecco is also offering free trades for the rest of October when you setup an account.
OK, I’m off to unpack. I’m all moved to my new place…but it’s a disaster right now.

Thanks for the free(ish) money links. You may want to modify your post a bit. There is a 6 month, 2,500 miniumum balance required to get the bonus at TradeKing.
@Adam – Oh, thanks. I must have read that wrong. Updating…
Casey Serin called you a big phoney on last night talkcast. Are you going to stand for that?
@ isamu – hmm. That’s not very nice, and while I wish that were true, my mistakes and debts are quite real.
What is this? It is like a review of a bottle of wine written by an alcoholic.
I’m new to trading, so I would love the extra $100 from OptionsXpress.
