I totally, totally agree. I am self employed, and have had customers who don't seem to care for my prices, yet they can afford several $50 pairs of shoes and regular shopping sprees. You know, I'm not making light of the recession at all, and I know many, many people are losing their jobs. But I think that many people can still make it through ok if they change their habits--good clothes can be bought at thrift stores, good meals can be made at home with having friends over for an enjoyable evening, the news can be read online, etc. Again, great post!
