Student Loans

Posted by debt kid on the April 30th, 2008

I currently have 3 different servicers of my student loans. My private loans are at Sallie Mae and Citibank. My federal loans are in the Federal Student Loan Servicing program. I deferred my private loans for nearly a year, and then I didn’t have to make payments during my bankruptcy. Now that those have passed, it’s time to track each one and eventually pay them all off!

Just out of curiosity, how can you not know if a loan has been discharged or not in your bankruptcy? Seems to me like you would want to know this stuff…
