PF Challenge Round 5

by debt kid on August 18, 2008

It’s getting down to the wire in my PF Challenge Tournament. After playing a little catchup, the loser’s bracket (which may still contain the ultimate winner!) has come back strong.

Winner’s Bracket

My Dollar Plan vs. Step3 Prophet – Winner: Step 3

Step 3 has run the table on the winner’s bracket and will now play the winner of the loser’s bracket!

Loser’s Bracket

GenXFinance vs. Moolanomy
CashMoneyLife vs. LazyManandMoney

If you’re curious to see the entire bracket. I’ve embedded it below with the latest results as of today.

Hey, that’s really cool the way you integrated that document into the blog post.

Is that new technology?

Never seen it before…

It’s a new startup, yeah. Pretty cool actually. They are one of the resources I recommended in a post for Lending Club today:

I love craigslist btw.

Patrick (Cash Money Life) edged out Lazy Man (Lazy Man and Money) in a close one: 6279 to 5440.

Moolanomy edges out Gen X. It’s an incredible upset actually since I know I have no chance against Jeremy in real life. It’s like college professor playing a high school student (me) and I won by shear luck.

One of us is going down, Pinyo. ;)

Good luck!

Alrighty~!

Pinyo vs. Patrick to see who plays Step 3 Prophet in the “gold medal” game! Go ahead and report back once complete!

Isn’t it Pinyo vs. Patrick to see who plays My Dollar Plan, with the winner going on to the gold medal match? ;)

I started my game with Patrick, but I agree that Step 3 and MDP get a bye round. Either Patrick or I would play MDP — the loser get 3rd place and the winner go on to play Step 3 for 1st.

It’s a little weird but it’s possible for Step 3 to lose the final match and get 2nd.

I think I found the problem. Out of the four remaining players, I am the only one who played 5 opponents so far (Being Frugal, Step 3, Wisdom, BTG, GenX). CML played four opponents (PT, Gibble, Step 3, Lazy), MDP played four (BTG, Lazy, GenX, Step3), and Step3 played four (DebtKid, Moolanomy, CML, MDP).

Technically, CML should be playing MDP and the winner of that match will play me for the honor of playing against Step 3 (the loser get 3rd place).

Pinyo, I don’t see where you played Gibble in the bracket. Was that just a game for fun?

I think you and I play, with the winner challenging Madison from My Dollar Plan. The loser of our game gets 4th, the loser of MDP + Challenger gets 3rd, and the winner of MDP + Challenger takes on Step 3 for the championship.

That how I see it…

I didn’t play Gibble, but I did play 5 opponents so far:

1. Being Frugal,
2. Step 3,
3. Wisdom,
4. BTG,
5. GenX

:-)

LOL. I misread the comment above and kept looking for where you played Gibble. I see everything now. I’m not an experienced bracket maker, but I would think that you and I play, with the winner challenging Madison. but Debt Kid is the judge. Either way, I’ll give it my best. ;)

I don’t mind either way, but it would be more fair and correct if CML plays MDP, then the winner plays me for a chance to play Step3.

OK, I think you might be right. I missed another step in the bracket. LOL. I told you, I’m not good at this kinda thing!

The winner of Pinyo vs. Patrick plays MDP, who still only has one loss. See the embedded bracket. My bad for writing after driving 7 hours! good luck.

CML barely squeaks by Moolanomy in a close, close game… 6,566 to 6,083.
