I’m another visitor here from Casey’s blog. Even if you’re only getting a few hundred visitors per day, why don’t you put up Google adsense or something like it? Unlike Casey’s site, you have a lot less detractors so I’m sure one or two small ads won’t offend your readers and lead to getting banned. It could mean $50 or $100 extra per month for only 10 minutes set up time?

Quick Question: What’s the tilde mean on some of interest rates?

The tilde just means I am not sure of the interest rate and need to look it up in my file folders. I’ll look into the ad idea, an extra $100 a month would be handy…

Wow… $120,000 private loan to your mom? Is the relationship affected any? I’m glad I only owe $2,100 to my in-laws. They have been pretty patient with me.

My readers on the IamFacingForeclosure.com blog keep pointing out this blog for me to read. I finally listened.

Good stuff…

I looked all the way back to the first post, where you showed all your debts and interest rates, and I have to say that I am really impressed with the progress you have made! Have you really brought down your debts by $60k? It’s also incredible how you were able to negotiate so many of the lenders down to an 0.0% interest rate. You sound like a “can-do” kind of person, despite the mistakes you’ve made, and I am really rooting for you! There’s not much I can do to help, unfortunately, but if you ever need someone to interpret Japanese to English for your business, I’ll consider doing it for free :)

I agree that google adsense would be a good idea. I doubt that any visitors to your site would mind an ad or two, and hopefully you’d get relevant ones that people would be interested in.

I hope the interest rates that you’re not sure of are not too high.

Oh, have you read the blog about that woman who (it was a long while ago) lived in her car for a few months to pay off her debt? (Sorry, I’ve forgotten who it is) She sold everything in a yard sale, and went and worked two jobs, sleeping in her car and going to the gym every morning to work out and shower. She ate restaurant food from the restaurant she worked in. She didn’t enjoy it, but it’s clearly possible.

How goes the food situation? Maybe you can plant some herbs, like dill, in a little pot in your office. Adds to your food and looks kind of cute and friendly. I did this a few years ago just for fun.

Great site, used to read Casey’s site, but he’s a little too fake for his “fame” to continue.. it’s clear that he’s evolved into someone who thinks his stardom is somehow another quick way to financial success.

I appreciate your honesty and more so your hard work and integrity within you approach.

I got into a very small financial crunch after the .com boom, got laid off, lost money on stocks and took me 4 hard years of work to get things straightened out.

Contrary to what Casey believes and preaches, hard work and honesty will pay you off in the end. good luck! look forward to more frequent entries.

Yes Casey, but this guy didn’t lie on any loans, is living out of his office, eating ramen, and acting like a responsible adult.

Go troll for donations at your site

Uh, tracert the IP address on the Casey Serin post and see if it’s actually him. It’s the Internet. People have been known to lie.

Shocking, I know.

I don’t understand your spreadsheet. Wasn’t DMP meant to roll up all the personal loans? IF so why are they still shown as outstanding (I realise your mother’s debt still stands).

Are you going to start knocking off the lines one by one by paying them off?

ooh…not that I think that you should live in your car. Just an example that I found inspiring.

Of course the post from Casey isn’t actually him. That would mean he followed advice from his posters which he never does. And also Casey wouldn’t think that paying back your debts by living in an office, eating ramen, and saving money was good.

Good for you Debt Kid. I also came here from Casey’s ridiculous web site. I’ll never go back to his web site, but I’ll be checking in on you to see how you are doing.

Have you ever listened to Dave Ramsey’s show before? You can get it as a podcast every day for free. I highly recommend it. You’ll hear people calling in that are in just as bad (if not worse) shape than you are. You’ll also hear people call in to scream that they are debt free after paying off a (sometimes) staggering amount of debt. It can be very inspiring.

Dave gives very good, common sense advice, that really works – especially for someone like you that is motivated and takes responsibility. I listen to the podcast every day even though I’m not in debt because it helps me stay on track financially. My wife and I paid off around $55,000 in debt in the 18 month period after we found Dave’s show, and now we’re on track to retire with a nice nest egg and a paid-for house.

Best of luck.

You are really doing terrific. The interest rates are low, and you have paid almost 18% of this already. I would leave Mom on a seperate tab, but man, that has to hurt, losing that money! (Without that figured in, you have paid 28% of the borrowed money.)

Maybe calculate the opportunity costs, when days are better — paying that might restore your standing with her a bit.

You are lucky. Most parents wouldn’t have given you any money. You are an adult. You make choices. Grow up and quit fooling around. Do not spend money you don’t have. What are you thinking? Just remember. There will not always be someone there to pick up the pieces after you screw up. You have your parents now to help you when you are down. If you were my boy, I wouldn’t have given you squat. Its called tough love. The children of today are live in a world filled with images of riches and glory, courtesy of hollyweird. You are no different. I hope you pull yourself out of this predicament. Good luck. You are going to need it.

Ps. There was a time in the history of the world when men were imprisoned when they could not pay their debts. This time is coming again I am afraid. It is part of the new world that is coming. You will see it. Hopefully, if God allows it, there are some of us that will fight and die to help you live in a world free of this one world government. Do not waste your life. Just remember. Freedom is not free.
