A mortgage calculator can be used to calculate numerous important numbers when looking to purchase a home such as:

• Your monthly payment (including taxes and PMI)
• An amortization schedule (showing payments over the life of the loan)
• Your true APR or annual percentage rate

Most mortgage calculators are more advanced than the averegae joe soon to be homeowner is looking for. I tried to keep mine pretty basic. I’ve started looking at how much I can afford in a mortgage and built this simple calculator to work in that scenario.
