Lots of good news today.
I talked with my Landlord and we both agreed on continuing my lease at the current rate, only month to month!
Awesome.
It’s a small weight off my shoulders.
My landlord also said I was, “the perfect tenant”. I guess always being early with my payment has helped. I’m so lucky that I found this place last summer. Going from living in my office to having a nice work/live 1 bd. place has been such a blessing.
While I could find a cheaper place (or move to Portland and live with my mother for much cheaper. Someday I want to search for homes in portland, or), this is right for me right now. I can run my business here, and still have a life.
Announcement Tomorrow
Tomorrow (Thursday) I’ll be announcing a project that I’ve been working on for the last few months. I think you’ll have fun seeing what it is! So, come back tomorrow!

This is good news…
Although I did recommend moving, I agree with a commenter on the last post that stability can be your friend… when renting, if you can provide a solid rental reference, that would go a long way in the future even if you have bad credit….
also hunkering down and staying put for a while will go a long way to repairing your credit. I know it did for me.
Good news!
Have you considered looking for a studio apartment? That may save you a few hundred a month and you’d still be able to live in the same city.
Good job. You did the right thing – you still have a place for your employees to work, you have stability with the apartment professionally, financially, and emotionally and personally. Now you can focus on other things.
I’m pleased to hear about your landlord’s comments also. The more stable, responsible, dependable, and cooperative you are as a tenant, the less likely it is that your landlord would raise the rent. It is not worth a few extra dollars a month to risk a vacancy while it gets rerented, and then he might get an uncooperative tenant. Sounds like both you and he know a good thing when you see it, so keep that going.
Hi -
You noted that you were going to be making an announcement on July 24 — but I really didn’t see an annoucement…. and the thing posted the next day was about a foreclosure suicide…. What was your big announcement? Was it the Lending Club thing?
It was the lending club application. Not a huge announcement or anything, but it was something I had been working on for some time.
