Medifast Diet Review 2010 + Coupon Discount

Medifast has become insanely popular in the last few years. I will map out how Medifast works, if it is cost effective and the weight loss to expect from its 5 and 1 model.

If  you are overweight and have tried a few of the thousands of diets out there, you are not alone.

There are so many ads for losing weight quickly with things like Hoodia, ephedrine, and products like slim-fast or Hydroxycut. How do you know what will work?

You listen to science, silly. You try a scientifically proven system, like Medifast.

Medifast is a weight loss program that uses high protein and low-calorie meal replacements to aid you in your fight against fat.

Medifast’s diet layout

Medifast’s most popular diet is their “5 and 1” program. It works to help you lose weight by supplementing 5 meal replacements during the day and 1 (healthy) meal in the evening. They call the 1 meal the “lean and green” meal. So we are not talking about a juicy cheeseburger or mashed potatoes.

What the meal replacements do daily is force your body to get fuel and energy from stored body fat. Hence the reason you lose weight. The replacements are full of vitamins that also help your liver process fatty acids etc…

One of the great things I found is Medifast’s vast array of options when it comes to meal replacements. Included in the plan are various shakes, soups, bars, teas, etc… that help supplement the food you would otherwise eat during the day. With Medifast you eat more often as well, every 2-3 hours.

Medifast’s weight loss

The weight loss while in the Medifast program varies. However the average is around 20 lbs. in a month. The creators of Medifast say that you will lose 2-3 lbs a week and more if you involve exercise into your daily regiment. If you are faithful to drink the shakes, eat the lean green real meals and work out, your losses could be really substantial. With taking the meal replacements you may feel a lack of energy, especially in the first week. This is normal, but may hinder your aspirations to go for a run, so know what you are getting into.

Medifast Cost

The cost of Medifast is around $275 for the “5 and 1” plan. So it ain’t cheap. But for me it comes down to: “dang, I’m saving a TON of time cooking this month AND I’m losing weight.<medifast1

This means you get all the meal replacement options including a package that combines things like Omega 3 supplements to aid you in your weight loss. This package may seem like a lot to burn calories, but it has proven effective. The product has been around for a long time, but was previously only given out by doctors via prescription.

Choosing Medifast packages

The “5 and 1” model is the most raved and talked about by reviewers. I can only recommend it because of the continuous thumbs up we have seen from it. Try one of the variety packages both for men and women. The diet only lasts 28 days. If it works great, then order it again like nutrisystem. Going on the diet can also help you control portions and meal intake in the future, assisting you in keeping the weight off for good. There are many diets out there to choose from, but I think Medifast is the most un-scammy and likely to work for you.

I’m interested in trying the Medifast 5 and 1 diet 1/1/2010. Can I get the $50 discount, free shipping, and try it only for a month? How much would it cost me? If I like it, I would like to continue with the plan.

I’ve been on the plan for 5 weeks now…and VERY strict about it. I’ve lost a total of 8 lbs. Doesn’t seem to be the weight loss program for me.

It is working for me! I have lost 66lbs in 13 weeks! I am so excited. I love the food! I started at 282lbs! I have a whole new life! I never realized what the extra weight was doing to me emotionally. I took a slightly different route. I decided to go through Take Shape For Life. They are a division of Medifast. With them I get a little better deal on my food plus I have a FREE Health Coach! I am in it for a lifestyle change and it is wonderful! I love the Chocolate and Swiss Mocha shakes as well as almost every Bar they have! I never knew ‘good for you’ food could also taste great!

10 years ago I tried medifast and i was very successful. I lost 60 lbs. in about 5 months. I was supervised by a doctor and I weighed once a week. The very first week I lost 10 lbs! I would like to start on Medifast again. I can not find a doctor that has this medifast program in this area. I would love to receive some coupons so I could start using the Medifast again. Thank you.
