So, I decided for dinner last night to try experimenting with the cheapo hot pot that I’ve got. (rhyme!)
I tried boiling eggs first…
That worked well. I overcooked them, but now I know for next time. Then I tried a artichoke…
And that turned out really well actually. So, all in all, dinner for about $1.50. Not the most well rounded meal I’ve had, but at least I got some vegetables. Enough of that…
The House
Got a call from my real estate agent today that is handling the short sale. He told me that greenpoint and litton loan have both said that they short sale “meets their guidlines”. BUT, the investor that owns the loans still has to sign off on it, and that will be 5 business days. Yikes.
My emotions
When I get alot done at work…I feel good about myself and how things are going. When I don’t get alot done (or I feel like I didn’t get much done), I feel like crap. My business is going well, it’s just so complicated budget wise with all my debt. If I didn’t have the debt….I’d be a pretty well-off guy. Oh well, complaining about it doesn’t change anything.
Work Stuff
Like I said, work stuff is going pretty well. I’ve divided the next year or so business plan wise into three stages. I’m about 70% complete on stage one in terms of sales. Then it will take another 2 months or so to stabilize that phase. While that is happening I’m working on Phase II, which is a newer more cool venture in the same industry. If Phase II goes well, I’ll have a shot at making enough $ to pay down the 300K+ I owe. Phase II isn’t going get going till early fall though…so…
I need to stabilize my current business, while working on the second phase, while selling everything I own, while moving into my office, while dealing with the creditors, while trying to stay sane.
I love my life.

i think this simple post qualifies you as the anti-Casey
I’m glad you are staying positive and have a motivated drive to continue moving forward. Your blog is quite inspirational. There are many out there that always see things as the glass being half empty, some don’t see the glass, and others see it half full. It is hard to keep a positive attitude if you’re not optimistic about your future. You are doing a great job so far. Keep on keepin’ on.
artichokes and eggs…. hmmm it’s probably good that you live alone now
Dude, you ate seven eggs in one sitting? Yuck! Even though you are in debt you need to eat a balanced diet. For example, instead of seven boiled eggs, try making a three-egg omelette with some cheese thrown in there. I hope you get out of debt soon so you can afford some real food.
For perfect hardboiled eggs..put the cold water and the eggs in. When it starts to boil, time for ten minutes. Run the eggs under cold water to stop them cooking. Works everytime.
Keep up the great work! You sound like you’re getting things under control and have a plan, which is good.

That’s hard-core. I feel for ya.
A few years ago, I was in a really bad relationship. I was really in love with this girl but she was emotionally/mentally abusive. I was so depressed, I couldn’t get out of bed. I gave myself temporary highs by daytrading. Eventually, I needed bigger and bigger highs. Made riskier and bigger trades. Lost $200K of my own money, owed $60K in margin. I used credit cards to pay off the margin debt.
I tried negotiating a payment plan with the banks but they refused. I was unemployed at the time…and my income would be low the next few years while I finish my training as a physician. I was desperate and didn’t want the creditors to hassle me while I was in training. I needed to stay focused. So I filed BK. I’m very ashamed of the whole thing. Never before in my life had I gotten so out of control. I’m recovering now but that stigma of BK will forever haunt me.
So I’m rooting for ya. I kinda understand what you went through.
Just remember…you owe them money…you don’t owe them your life!
Rice dude – rice. It’s cheap and definitely healthier than 7 eggs. Cook a small side dish to add taste (mussels, veggies). In my part of the world you can get rice cookers that have a steamer attachment – you cook the rice in the bottom part and your vegetables in the top part.
How’s this affecting your credit report, you must have a lot of charge off’s…Has anyone given you advice on how to repair it besides debt management
Did you have problems with Litton not calling you back?
