I talked with my agent at the IRS today, because I still had not received anything in the mail from them confirming the payment plan I proposed.
Good news is that everything is on track, he just has to finish the paperwork, and then send it to his supervisor to get approved. If for some reason it gets denied, it will come back to him and then he said, “we can figure out what to do to make it work”.
Very reassuring. I’m still hesitant of all this IRS-niceness. But, that being said, I should have a answer back by the end of the month on my proposed $600/mo payment plan. We shall see.
In some bad news, my blog here got hacked over the weekend, I think I’ve got it fixed now, but crap I lost like half my search traffic. It’s starting to slowly come back, but a number of posts are completely gone from Google. I’ll look into how (if possible) I can recitfy this over the weekend. Big thanks to Ian from technorati though for pointing this out to me. You guys rock.

one thing to keep in mind is that congress has absoloutly no qualms about dragging the director of the irs up to capitol hill to testify in front of the ways and means committee… and it just so happens that your very own representative, Bagdad Jim Mcdermott is a member of that committee…. so if things don’t work out with the IRS after good faith negotiating, by all means give him a call and cry foul.
I can’t believe you were hacked. Actually I can believe it. Some people are so – insert words that your mother never taught you here – you know.
Hope you are able to recover your stuff and the damage done isn’t too bad.
I am glad to see that things seem to be going well with the IRS. I think you having taken the initiative to negotiate a deal with them to pay them $600/mo shows that you are serious and that you want to correct your financial mistakes. On a side note, I still have not received my stimulus check. Anyone else in that boat?
Anyways, keep your head up and stay focused on creating more income and stabilizing the current monthly income. You have made quite a bit of progress in the last year that I have been following your story. Does it feel like you are making any momentum?
At least the IRS is working with you – usually the state income tax gorgons just swoop in a take all your money. Best of luck to you.
@ Benjamin – It does feel like I’m making some momentum. But it’s definitely two steps forward, one step back.
