One amazing thing about this company is that you don’t have to worry about being able to get it where you live. So long as you live in the continental U.S. and have a clear view of the southern sky, HughesNet will work for you! It will go to places which Cable Internet and DSL will not reach, making it extremely handy for rural areas or areas away from large cities.
HughesNet offers plans for your home, business, enterprise, or even government office. All over the country, thousands upon thousands of customers are switching to Hughesnet for their broadband Internet needs.
Customer Support
And how is their customer support, you may ask? Well, there have been reports of “ignorant” tech support, but a call to the right place can have even the worst problem resolved in no-time! So, basically, if you live in the middle of nowhere, need Internet which is affordable, reliable and fast, then HughesNet just might be the right thing for you. Another scenario where you might consider HughesNet is if you have a business or enterprise and need some alternatives to DSL. Great service, a great product, great Internet, there are definitely ingredients which any winner needs.

Hughes Net promised us fast service in our area and a 30 day trial. They charged us $200 for installation and $70 for monthly service. The internet was so slow that we could not download any page and they also did not tell us that there was a limit bandwit. We called to cancel within the 30 day trial. They told us that we had to ship back their equipment and pay our shipping and handling for it. It was within the 30 day trial and we still got charged $400 for cancellation fee. That over $700 for that one month!!!!! HughesNet should be very ashamed and go out of business asap!
I was definitely mislead by Hughesnet’s Sales Agent who conveniently overlooked details about constant slow signal strength, that I would not receive consisten high speed internet due to the fact that I was competing with 3000 other users for the same satelite space.
When I called to have the unit removed the 1st time because unbeknownst to me, I had exceeded the FAP threshold (2) times in about 11/2 weeks, I was told that I needed to upgrade to the ProPlus plan, at a cost of an additional $20.00 per month or 25% increase to obtain what I was lead to believe I was receiving for $59.99 a month. Now I pay a whopping $79.99 per month and the service is just as bad now as it was with the home plan.
Now I am receiving messages that there is a satelite conection failure….oh this ocurs about 6 times a day or so and tech support……I love the people from India and the Philippines but they are merely reading from a script and have zero lattitude in making decisions. As a matter of fact, their supervisors are reading from a similar script and hve little decisions making allowances. However, I will say they are eager to assist as best as they are allowed and tak their jobs seriously.
It is a shame Hughesnet.com exports jobs, when we need employment here….guess US citizebs are just not good enough or are unable to work for .25 cents an hour! They know how to grow profits, they just forgot that they were in business to provide a service for those profits.
So Hughesnet is really committing itself to the world of “Truth In Advertising” law. They are NOT Faster Than Dial Up! And using “bait n switch” tactics is also against the law.
I have filed an FCC complaint and a BBB complaint…………I’m unemployed, I have the time!
Maybe some of us Hughesnet (customers) should consider a class action lawsuit???????
Best,
Walter
