Drumroll Please….
Thanks for all the comments from everyone about the $250 bonus. Here is what I am doing with the bonus:
- I found a salon that needs models for a hair color class so that will be FREE! I will be getting my hair cut so that will be about $40 with tip.
- I am going to buy some new work shoes. My limit for them is $20.
- The $190 will go into my emergency fund.
I think that spending the money this way helps me on a few levels. I get pampered by getting my hair cut and colored. I will get to buy some shoes and have the fun of a shopping experience but not feel the guilt of spending the money. And I get to add to my emergency fund but also get a little mental relief.
How I feel mentally.
Some of the comments brought up the point of how I would feel mentally once I finished saving up the 3 months for my emergency fund. I know that when I got 1 month and then 2 months saved I felt pretty good about my progress. I have to admit that I struggle from time to time following through on some of the goals that I set for myself. I made a point to sit down and write what it would mean to reach that goal for me. I think when I hit 3 months I will have a little bit less stress worrying about the what if I lose my job scenario and have the satisfaction of knowing I accomplished a financial goal that I had set for myself. For the first time in a while many aspects of my life are fitting together and I feel happy.
Best regards,

Jen-
Thanks for the comment. Sometimes I feel like if I didn’t keep the positive attitude I wouldn’t make it through the day sometimes. Thanks for reading!
