First IRS Payment Sent
by debt kid on October 23, 2008
So I sent off my first IRS payment today for $1000.
Yikes.
It feels good to finally start on the payment plan that I worked out with them a few months back. Plus, the $1000 was only for the first payment, going forward each month I only have to pay $600.
Only $600. Jeez.

You said earlier that you have the Federal tax lien in place. What does it attach to–i.e. all assets, bank accounts, other? Did you have to fill out the dreaded form 433? I hope you were brutally honest because they will find all assets unless they are exempt. Good luck with this.
I notice a earlier commenter suggesting that you set up a Roth IRA for your mother. I think she is forgetting that maybe your mother needs the cash worse than an IRA, or maybe, like a good son, you are staying out of her personal business. I guess you learned from previous attempts when you “helped” her with money.
Congratulations, this another step in the right direction.
