I drink no less than 8 of the 0.5L water bottles every single day. I only buy the bottled water when it is on sale (2-3 case for $5.00), and reuse the bottles for a couple weeks. Yes, I know that’s not the best thing to do, but I haven’t been sick (other than what the kids dragged in), for over 12 years.
I refill it from our tap, which is filtered/softened well water, and also checked every once in a while for bacteria.

Not sure about everyones water supply from the tap, but the water coming out of the tap here in PHX is NASTY…

Its bottled water for me or nothing….

as a ten-year bottled water drinker, i realized every drop comes by truck pushing diesel. whereas the pipe comes by pipe. totally, totally different impact… for what? get some kind of home filter if necessary. i just learned to like tap. cost is extremely cheaper. on polar bears, even.

A lot of people have faucet water that is not too great, hard or soft water, that tastes terrible. I have lived in multiple places and 2 different regions of the country. I would say about half the places the water was OK. A couple taste so bad to not be acceptable. Then there are the places where the water eats away at the facuets and sinks and showers irritate the hell out of skin,etc. Not the stuff I want to drink.

Granted, a lot of the “spring” water is a ripoff. And is just filtered tap water, really.

Still I do buy mine. it’s cheap. And if you are someone who thinks buying water is bad, I hope you don’t buy Coke, or beer ( why dont you have a tap at your house, its cheaper), or coffee/tea ( brew at home with your grea faucet water,etc).

The last time I went to the store a 24 pack of pretty good water ( Pure Life) was $3.33. A case of Coke was about twice that, and other drinks even more than that.

Also you can buy 1 gallon drinking water for about 69 cents.

I buy a case a week, a cost of about $10 a month. My water bill is $45 a month- and I don’t even water the lawn or wash cars or anything. Would my water bill go up $10 a month if I only drank tap? Probably not. I would probably feel worse or substitute unhealthy alternatives ( that cost more) though. I buy water, I just believe in going for the cheap alternatives. If you dont have to shop at an elitist grocery store and buy larger bottles, bottled water is pretty cheap. A lot cheaper than sugar drinks and other tings that provide no value or nourishment.

I have always felt that bottled water was a rip off. I can still remember in the early eighties when I first heard of people from the west coast buying bottled water, and my immediate thoughts were of some scam similar to the pet rock. Its amazing to me that anyone buys it.

Water from the store travels by way of gasoline and oil.

Water from the tap does not.

The difference in impact on the environment is pretty enormous.

That’s why I quit bottled water.
