Phentermine is known as one of the most effective yet elusive diet supplement we have around. This is primarily because of two reasons: first, the drug belongs to class of amphetamine and phenethylamine which are central nervous system stimulants; second, the drug was originally intended to help those who suffer from obesity-related health concerns such as diabetes. This pill helps them lose weight quickly by controlling insatiable appetites. Phentermine is very potent, as it works by directly stimulating the brain (the hypothalamus in particular) to release a neurotransmitter called Norepinephrine. This is a chemical messenger that transmits signals that help reduce hunger. Because of these characteristics, it is not available over-the-counter and should be prescribed by a physician.

Phentermine Scam?

Since its FDA approval in 1959, this drug has been used for short-term management of obesity quite a considerable number of years. Unfortunately, Phentermine without anything else has been known to cause physical and psychological dependence due to its addictive properties. For this reason, doctors prescribe the medication for no longer than 6 weeks. For these reasons, it is not advisable and necessary to include it in your options if you are considering a sustained weight loss program.

Medical professionals rarely recommend Phentermine due to its unstable side effects. Mild symptoms associated with the drug includes: headache, insomnia, diarrhea, and nervousness, while more serious side effect may be chest pain, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, confusion, and even seizure. Another drawback of this pill is that symptoms can be magnified by drinking alcoholic beverages. Logically, people who are taking Phentermine are advised not to drink alcohol. The drug can also affect your level of consciousness. Taking this pill may be very disadvantageous to those whose work requires attention and full concentration.

People who are currently taking medication should be cautious with this pill. It can interact with other medications and may yield perilous result. These drugs that should not be taken in conjunction with Phentermine are antihypertensives, oral hypoglycemic agents, MAOIs, and antidepressants to name a few. Phentermine plainly speaking is not the pill for everyone; it can only be suitable to very few people with specific health concerns.
