ma huang Ma Huang has become one of the most talked about supplements around, both positively and negatively. Ma Huang is just another—or actually the Chinese—name for plant Ephedra. Ma Huang has been used for centuries in Chinese herbal medicine for a number of ailments: nasal congestion, sore throats and allergies, and contains alkaloid compounds that are believed to have a powerful effect on the body. Ephedra however has been both popular at one point and controversial at another in the slimming pills industry; though many popular fat burners on the market today contained Ephedra in some form or other.

Ma Huang Scam?

This herb that was originally used to control asthmatic conditions in ancient China has found its way into modern day drugs. In the US, it was originally used by athletes to enhance performance. The drug has the side effects of energy boost. Those who take it have an unusual surge of energy which the athletes take advantage of. However, scientifically and medically speaking, this can provide serious consequences for the user. It stimulates the nervous system and produces the effect similar to cocaine. For these reasons, extreme caution is advised if you are ever going to use this pill. Although I believe the dangers of the substance have been grossly exaggerated by the media, one fact remains: this is a potent stimulant, and should not be used by any one with high blood pressure or a history of heart problems. It could aggravate existing medical conditions. A prior consultation with medical experts before using this pill is strongly recommended. Also, though testimonials and tradition has stood witnesses in its effectiveness in reducing weight, it has not been officially approved for use as a weight loss pill. With its potentially serious side effects and its being not officially approved and recognized as a weight loss supplement, it is better and wiser to invest to products that are officially tested and are backed up with scientific clinical trials.
