I am considering bankruptcy, I am currently unemployed. I have six mouths to feed and clothe. 40 to 50 thousand in debt. Not really behind yet but its going to get bad. Our only vehicle (we already lost the other) we owe 20,000, but the payment is very high. My delima with chapter 7 is that we will not have a vehicle nor the means to pay cash for another way to go. But I am drowning with 4 kids. From 60k a year plus side work that my wife does.We were pushing 80k together, now its barely over 1,000 a month, Never had this problem, HELP!
Hi I am in a situation and I am looking for some help. I lost about $200,000 day trading and was in the Real Estate and Auto business from 2000-present and lost my shirt when the economy took a turn. I never worried about much because I had big reserves but now those are gone and I am sitting with $150,000 in CC debt and 3 houses that I am out of equity $300,000 on. I am wondering what you know about the companies that take your debt and don’t settle it but instead try to negotiate rates. Thanks for your time and have a good one.
Hi. I have a situation that I need advice on. A few years ago when I was in college I was on my mother’s insurance as a dependent. I had a back injury and was going to physical therapy using her insurance. When the insurance company sent the payout they the check made out to my mother and she was supposed to pay the medical office instead of them sending it directly to the medical company themselves. Well, instead of giving the check to the medical company she cashed the check and spent the money. I don’t know why the check was made out to her or mailed to her home address instead of the place it should’ve gone to. A few months after that my mother filed for bankruptcy and eliminated this from her credit because it got sent to collection. Well, even though she was the primary insurer and I was a dependent they have now billed me for this since she filed bankruptcy. Can they do this?
