Bad Credit Credit Cards: Everything You Ever Wanted To Know

I went through a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy less than two years ago. I know about applying for credit cards when you have bad credit.

The good news when you have bad credit (like me) is that even those of us with bad credit can get a credit card. Most of the time there are high annual fees involved or it’s a secured card, but that’s OK if you are trying to build your credit back up.

I would classify these cards into two simple camps: unsecured and secured

Unsecured Bad Credit Credit Cards

Unsecured bad credit credit cards are going to come with low credit limits (think $300-$500) and usually high APR’s and annual fees ($30-$150). But these cards will also report monthly to your credit file and are a good start after a bankruptcy or some late payment issues.

Secured Bad Credit Credit Cards

Secured bad credit credit cards are the step down from the unsecured cards. They are easier to get approved for, but they also require you to “secure” them. And that mean’s cash. If you can’t get approved for anything else, they are the way to go. In terms of reporting, they look no different than an unsecured card and many times you can get a pretty high credit limit (up to $25,000), but again, you have to deposit that cash to secure the card.

Good luck applying and please let me know what you got approved for the comment section below.

I have the UltraVx card, i really like it. It took me awhile to figure out how to do the website but other than that i like it. It helped me with my score and still is. I made a stupid mistake on the website where i check my score and it knocked my score down so my great score decreased , does anyone know how i can increase by a click of a button? how about can any one tell me what percentage my credit balance should be and my debt
