If you have 8 minutes of your day to watch this, I think you’ll appreciate the beauty and simplicity of this short video. Shot in New Orleans, the filmmakers asked as many people as they could just one question.
I love the variety of answers. Some are so trivial and fake, others so genuine you can feel their emotion in the pit of your own soul.
I think beyond just the interesting concept of this short video, what I also appreciate is how brilliantly it is shot and edited.
I know exactly my answer to this question. And, trust me, it’s not financial, but pretty personal. If enough people comment and share, I’ll share my answer. Bonus points if someone can pick my favorite answer…
So, What’s your answer?

The serenity to accept the things I cannot change
I would have to say that my favorite – and maybe yours too – would be the one where the man says that he would want the adoption to go through for him and his wife.
However, my answer to that question would be to finally find happiness and contentment in my life.
I have a brother who is having trouble getting his life together, and I’d wish for him to have some kind of breakthrough.
I would wish for humankind to really see each other – to know that we are all in the care of each other and that it’s not supposed to be about ME but about all of us. It doesn’t take much time or effort to be kind to another person – if everyone realized this and actually cared about others – saw them as someone’s son, daughter, husband, wife, grandparent; think of what a wonderful world this would be.
For me, its an easy one. My mom has been dealing with some mental health issues for the last decade…and if I could change one thing by the end of the day it would be that she would be healed and back to her normal self. Sure, me paying her back by the end of the day would be nice, but not like her being healed.
Also, my favorite was actually the man that said “ending the violence”…it felt very genuine.
A talk with God
I wish that my best friend would face the fear and go to the doctor to be checked. And that the cancer is not back.
My favorite was the man that wished for a women to smoke a cigar with.
Money issues are the first the come to mind for me, but really by the end of the day,….. maybe have better friendships?
Yeah, the cigar answer was great as well.
