Teenagers don’t usually get their first jobs because they want to save money for the future. They want cash to buy a new car, purchase new clothes and music, or pay for going out with friends. However, getting teenagers in the habit of saving their money from day one is the best [...]

OK, a big thanks to Flexo. I took his income statement excel file and modified it a bit to work for me. This is a much better way to track my progress than what I had been using.
Wow, I didn’t realize how much stronger position I am in now than a year ago. I’m actually [...]

I wish there was some magic wand I could waive and instantly be out of debt today.
Not gonna happen.
Things have stabilized quite a bit for me, and I think in another few weeks I’ll have a very good and pretty stable budget figured out both on the personal side (income from my new job), and [...]

Living a frugal life may sound like a nightmare.
You’re probably thinking of giving up all the luxuries in your life: that expensive cup of Starbucks coffee, those designer clothes in your closet, that expensive pair of athletic shoes, those nights of partying with your friends.

So I sent off my first IRS payment today for $1000.
Yikes.
It feels good to finally start on the payment plan that I worked out with them a few months back. Plus, the $1000 was only for the first payment, going forward each month I only have to pay $600.
Only $600. Jeez.

Right now, we’re all being bombarded by bad news about the economy. Things look bleak everywhere!
Now more than ever is the time to make saving money an addiction.
Maybe you don’t have a lot of money to save right now. You might only be working part-time, or you may have plenty of expenses to worry [...]

This past week I’ve seriously just wanted to whine. So much so, if I we listening to myself I’d probably say,
"Hey, you want some cheese with that whine?"
Yeah, that’s how I joke. I know. It’s no wonder I have trouble with the ladies.
I’m just a little frustrated right now because I feel like I keep [...]

Even though I don’t trade any longer, I still follow the stock market quite a bit. Especially lately. A number of online brokers, including TradeKing, OptionsXpress, and ShareBuilder are giving away loads of free money right now to acquire new customers.
TradeKing $50 Bonus
TradeKing is offering $150 bonuses (transfer fees waived) to new customers. To receive [...]
